Developing a Profiling Methodology for Displaced People in Urban Areas: Thailand Case Study

This is one of three case studies that were conducted to test the methodology for profiling displaced persons in urban areas. The full report on the methodology is available here. The goals of the case study were to test and adapt the profiling methodology and to gather data that would contribute to urban livelihoods programming for vulnerable migrant groups. The study includes contextual background of migration to Mae Sot, Thailand, our methods, demographics and findings on vulnerability, and recommendations. We include maps of the study site and sampling strategy.
The two related case studies are:
  •  Aden, Yemen (here)
  • Polokwane, South Africa (here)
