Dan Maxwell assumes role of acting director
The Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy’s Dean Mozaffarian announced the appointment of Daniel Maxwell, Professor of Nutrition, as the acting director of the Feinstein International Center. Over his 30-year career, Dan managed and advised programs at the grass roots, national, and regional level, and has held leadership positions at several international NGOs and research institutes. At Feinstein, he directs the research program on livelihoods and food insecurity in complex emergencies.
Feinstein’s faculty and staff look forward to working with Dan in this new capacity, and thank Karen Jacobsen, the outgoing acting director, for her leadership the past two years. Karen has been newly appointed as the Leir Chair in Global Migration, an endowed professorship held jointly at the Fletcher School and Friedman School.
