Roxani Krystalli and Brittany Card reflect on gendered experiences of war

Roxani Krystalli and Brittany Card co-authored a post on understanding gendered experiences of war at Harvard Humanitarian Initiative’s ATHA blog. Krystalli and Card reflected on the progress made since the passage of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security, and the recent release of the study of the resolution’s effect. They note the importance of transcending the victim-perpetrator binary, as well as of focusing on gendered experiences of war that go beyond the current emphasis on wartime sexual violence.
