Evan Easton-Calabria publishes in International Studies Quarterly

Evan Easton-Calabria joined William L. Allen to publish “Combining Computational and Archival Methods to Study International Organizations: Refugees and the International Labour Organization, 1919–2015” in International Studies Quarterly, Volume 66, Issue 3, September 2022.

This article presents a general and flexible workflow that uses simple computational techniques from linguistics to enhance archival researchers’ interpretive skills and sensitivity to historical contexts. This is in response developments in computational methods that confer efficiency gains for examining these scale, but raise concerns about their validity when applied to interpretive tasks in historical settings.
