Theo is a humanitarian and historian based in East Africa. His work is interdisciplinary and focuses on food insecurity, conflict early warning, and African history.

As a Leland Fellow with Catholic Relief Services, Theo facilitates emergency nutrition responses in conflict- and climate-affected areas of Kenya and Somalia. At the Feinstein International Center, he worked with Merry Fitzpatrick, Paul Howe, and Dan Maxwell to publish Famine Prevention: A Landscape Report, as well as other journal articles.

Theo is currently working on a historical project reframing Kenya’s Mau Mau rebellion as an example of colonial era famine. He earned a master’s degree in international relations from The Fletcher School in 2023 and a bachelor’s in history from Clemson University in 2019.
