FIC faculty and researchers support creation of Gender Analysis in International Studies program
Feinstein International Center faculty and researchers have supported the creation of a Gender Analysis in International Studies program at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. Professor Dyan Mazurana, FIC Research Director for Gender, Youth, and Community, and Roxani Krystalli, Program Manager for the Humanitarian Evidence Program, are extensively quoted in this piece regarding the new Gender Analysis field of study.
On December 4-5, 2015, The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy hosted its first ever Conference on Gender and International Affairs: Avenues for Change. Professor Dyan Mazurana facilitated the opening session, which involved a discussion of gender analysis principles and applications and an interactive reflection on the ways in which individuals experience different gendered privileges. FIC Visiting Fellow Kim Wilson moderated the panel on gender, financial inclusion, and technology.
Roxani Krystalli has led the Gender Initiative and many efforts to incorporate gender analysis into international studies, and she supported the organizers’ efforts. Numerous other FIC faculty and affiliates, as well as students, faculty, and staff from universities across the Boston area, participated in the event.
