Dr. Denis J. Sullivan, Professor of Political Science and International Affairs; Co-Director, Middle East Center Northeastern University; Director, Boston Consortium for Arab Region Studies (A Carnegie Corporation Project)

Over the past 29 years, Dr. Sullivan has established, developed, and directed a number of programs focused on the Middle East and migration at Northeastern University, including The Boston Consortium for Arab Region Studies, The Middle East Studies Program, The International Affairs Program, The Dialogue of Civilizations Program, and the Northeastern Project Global Officers. Outside of Northeastern University, Dr. Sullivan led Bentley University’s Cronin International Center. He has consulted for numerous international organizations (UNHCR, World Bank), U.S. agencies (State Department, USAID, Defense Department), the Council of Foreign Relations, American Political Science Association, human rights lawyers and organizations, and academic institutions in Europe, the U.S. and the Middle East. Dr. Sullivan has published numerous papers and books. His latest book “Syria’s Humanitarian Crisis: A Call for Region International Response” came out in 2015.
