Working with Feinstein since 2020

Adam Lichtenheld is a senior researcher for peace and conflict at Mercy Corps, where he leads research related to conflict prevention, mitigation, and resolution. He is also a research affiliate at the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale University. Adam’s research focuses on peacebuilding, violence prevention, forced displacement, and aid effectiveness. He has conducted fieldwork in Afghanistan, Jordan, Libya, Syria, Turkey, and Uganda. His work has been published in scholarly journals such as International Organization, and in media outlets including, the Washington Post, Foreign Policy, and U.N. Dispatch.

Adam has designed and taught courses on armed conflict and forced displacement at Yale University and the University of California, Berkeley. He has served as a consultant for UNHCR, the World Bank, the Danish Refugee Council, and USAID. He holds a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.A. and PhD from University of California, Berkeley.
