On November 15, 2016, the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy (the school within which Feinstein is housed) launched its new strategic plan.

The plan features eight strategic aims:

1. Nourished children, families, and communities
2. Healthy food for all
3. Longevity and vitality
4. Sustainable food environments
5. Discovery and entrepreneurship
6. Creating and enabling leaders
7. Public impact initiative
8. Foundational initiatives
