Rome Nutrition Week 2026 session shares Tufts research on acute malnutrition
Research Assistant Professor Anastasia Marshak will present global research on acute malnutrition at a thematic session organized by the Global Nutrition and Acute Malnutrition Crisis (GNAFC) and Concern Worldwide as part of Rome Nutrition Week 2026, held at FAO Headquarters from May 25–28.
The session, “Acute Malnutrition in Global Crises: Rethinking Evidence and Elevating Policy Priorities,” will examine persistent acute malnutrition in crisis-affected countries and delayed or missing data that undermines response effectiveness.
Marshak joins speakers from UNICEF, WFP, FAO, Concern Worldwide, IGEN, and the United Kingdom All-Party Parliamentary Group on Nutrition for Development. Marshak’s research will be presented alongside findings from the 2026 Global Report on Food Crises and two country-specific case studies.
The session will explore policy recommendations to strengthen data systems and enable earlier preventive, multisectoral action to address acute malnutrition.
