Mazurana joins UN officials for release of report on child reintegration programs
On December 15, 2025, Feinstein Research Director and Professor Dyan Mazurana will speak at the launch of Child-Inclusive and Gender-Responsive Reintegration Programmes, a new report produced by the Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination at Princeton University and the Office of the UN Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict.
The event will open with remarks from SRSG CAAC Vanessa Frazier and Ambassador Gregor Koessler, Austria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
The report offers research-based analysis and practical guidance for strengthening reintegration efforts for children formerly associated with armed forces and armed groups. It highlights how such programs are essential for peacebuilding, community stability, and supporting children’s transition to civilian life.
Despite their importance, reintegration programs have often struggled to meet the diverse, long-term needs of children. The publication addresses these gaps by outlining child-inclusive and gender-responsive approaches that better reflect children’s lived experiences, vulnerabilities, and needs.
