WEBINAR: Predicting the Future to Strengthen Anticipatory Action

November 14, 2023, 6:00-7:30 a.m. ET

In countries prone to climate and weather-related disasters, critical information helps governments, communities, and responders limit the effects of disasters.

Researchers in Lesotho and the Philippines are developing new tools to help stakeholders predict and visualize the effects of disasters. These models will help communities and disaster response teams better plan and execute anticipatory actions ahead of time.

In this webinar, researchers will describe their models and share the visualizations they are creating. Local users will discuss how these models can improve their responses to save lives and livelihoods in the event of a disaster.

This webinar is presented by the Academic Alliance for Anticipatory Action and made possible through support provided by the Office of Acquisition and Assistance, Bureau for Management, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), under the terms of Cooperative Agreement No. 720BHA21CA00044.
